In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the essential skills to get started, including how to hold your hook, create basic stitches, and read a simple pattern. If you want to learn to crochet and have never picked up a hook or needle, this is the class for you! The main focus will be on holding the hook and yarn and learning basic stitches. We will be working on a dish cloth as a project - go as slow or as quickly as you wish! We will provide a yarn and a crochet hook for you to use and to take home.

STEM Engineering - READY, AIM, LAUNCH!! Step into the world of ballistics and structural engineering in this high-energy, hands-on workshop. In CANDY CORN CATAPULTS, students become "Siege Engineers" as they design, build, and calibrate their very own desktop launchers. The mission? To successfully navigate the physics of flight and land a "harvest" of candy corn into a series of bubbling cauldrons. It's a race against gravity and a test of architectural strength!

Use the popular finger knitting technique to craft cute, seasonal decor! Our main projects will be a soft pumpkin made from chunky yarn, measuring approx. 12-14 inches in diameter. In this course, participants will learn how to create a charming Donut Buddy—a cute, plush donut character that makes a perfect gift, decoration, or addition to a collective crochet toy set. You’ll learn essential amigurumi techniques, including working in the round, increasing and decreasing stitches, stuffing and shaping your toy, and adding simple embroidered or crocheted features to give your donut its own personality. No prior amigurumi experience is needed—basic crochet knowledge is helpful but not required. All materials will be provided, and every participant will leave with their own completed (or nearly completed!) Donut Buddy and the skills to continue exploring the delightful world of crochet toys. Whether you’re brand new to yarn crafts or looking to refresh your skills, this course will guide you step-by-step through creating one of crochet’s most iconic motifs. You’ll learn how to hold your hook comfortably, work foundational stitches, read simple patterns, and create the traditional multi-round square design. By the end of the class, you’ll complete your own finished granny square and gain the confidence to use them in larger projects like blankets, bags, and scarves. All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is required—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

Any student with one year of experience playing their instrument is welcomed and encouraged to sign-up for lessons. These can either be group (like instrument & experience) or individual lessons. Each lesson will be an 30 minutes long and will cover a warm-up, skill building, sight-reading, and preparation of etudes. The purpose of summer lessons is to continue building upon the skills learned throughout the school year. All materials needed will be provided to the student by the instructor. Join the Becker Dance Team for four days of fun dance instruction and a halftime performance! Participants will learn a dance routine and perform at the Becker Homecoming Football game at halftime on Friday October 2. Participants must wear athletic shoes, comfortable clothing and bring a snack and water bottle to practices. Interested in RC Cars? Want to try racing them on a track? Then come join us for some fun as we explore what makes them work and then get to try them out. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the hobby, and get some time testing out their driving skills on a few different types of RC Cars and Trucks.*K-1st grade students need to have an adult present for the class**Participants can bring their own RC Cars on approval.
