Reading Club: Upper Elementary & Middle SchoolABC's - Arts, Baking, CraftsJoin us for a fun and relaxed Reading Club designed for students in grades 3–8 who love to read and enjoy discovering new books! During this session, students will hear several engaging book talks and receive recommendations for exciting titles they may want to read next. Whether they love adventure, mystery, humor, fantasy, or realistic stories, there will be plenty of great options to explore. Each participant will also choose a book to take home and keep, helping them build their own personal library and continue reading long after the class ends. We’ll also set aside time for students to enjoy quiet independent reading in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Snacks and beverages will be provided, making this a cozy and enjoyable time for students to relax, read, and connect with great books and fellow readers. 📚 Reading Club sessions will be offered twice a month in May after school and throughout the summer. Students may sign up for one session, several sessions, or all of them—whatever fits their schedule. LEGO Challenge Lab: Build, Create and Engineer!STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering & MathPut your creativity and engineering skills to the test in this fun, one-day LEGO Challenge! In this hands-on class, students will choose their favorite building challenge and bring their ideas to life using LEGO bricks. Participants can decide whether they want to design the tallest tower, build a strong bridge, create a speedy race car, invent a fantasy creature or animal, or design part of a LEGO city. After choosing their challenge, students will plan, build, and test their creations while learning simple engineering and design concepts. Builders will have time to share their creations with the group and see what others designed as well. Friendly categories such as “Most Creative,” “Strongest Design,” and “Coolest Design” will add to the fun. This relaxed, creative class encourages imagination, problem-solving, and friendship while giving kids the chance to build something uniquely their own. Participants will explore basic clay sculpting techniques while making projects such as turtles, owls, octopuses, or other imaginative creatures, as well as miniature foods like donuts, cupcakes, pizza slices, and burgers. Students will learn how to shape clay, add texture and details, and attach pieces securely to build their designs. After sculpting, they will paint and decorate their creations to make them colorful and unique. These mini masterpieces can be displayed as decorations, keepsakes, or small gifts to share with family and friends. In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the essential skills to get started, including how to hold your hook, create basic stitches, and read a simple pattern. If you want to learn to crochet and have never picked up a hook or needle, this is the class for you! The main focus will be on holding the hook and yarn and learning basic stitches. We will be working on a dish cloth as a project - go as slow or as quickly as you wish! We will provide a yarn and a crochet hook for you to use and to take home.Summer 2026
